Ari (Gennady) Medvinsky is a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer, currently working at Google. With over 22 years of relevant experience, he has been involved in various software engineering roles, including Technical Lead Manager, Cloud Identity & Access Management and Head of Engineering, Identity and Access Management at Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing platform and mobile payment company. At Grab, Ari founded and led the IAM engineering team in Seattle, which was responsible for all identity and access management scenarios for Grab. He also architected and led the IAM team to build the Grab Identity platform for 3rd parties, which achieved certification by OpenID Foundation and powers Grab Financial Group online payment acceptance for 3rd parties. Additionally, he formulated and led a set of complementary initiatives that form a comprehensive IAM platform for 1st and 3rd parties, achieving buy-in through tech talks, presentations, and collaboration with partner stakeholders and leadership team. Currently, at Google, Ari is working on Confidential Computing/Cloud Security & Privacy. He leads a team of six developers responsible for on-boarding and integration of Cloud Identity and Access Management Service with all Google Cloud Platform Services. Ari holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, where he also earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Computer Science from the University of California. In 2019, he completed the HBS Grab Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. Ari's tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Integration, and Mobile.
